Special Granting Programs
As BC's philanthropic leader, Vancouver Foundation partners with other organizations and funders to collectively support the needs of our communities.
Organizations are invited to apply to any of the special grant programs listed below if you think you meet the funding eligibility guidelines.
Vancouver Foundation administers these separate grantmaking programs on behalf of donors, corporations, governments and other funders. Each program has its own application process.
Giving in Action: Children and Youth with Special Needs Supports Fund
Established with the provincial government in 2006, this fund, through the Giving in Action Society, assists families of children and youth with special needs to increase their ability to access and participate in home and community life.

Disability Supports for Employment Fund: Building Community Capacity
Established through a grant from the Province of BC in 2003, this fund supports registered charities in creating new approaches to employment for people with disabilities that may complement or augment existing programs.

Giving In Action: Family Independence Fund
This fund was established in 2006 with funding from Community Living BC and the provincial government, through the Giving in Action Society. The fund helps families with a child or adult with a developmental disability to keep them at home, by providing grants for renovations to homes or upgrades/modifications to vehicles.

Public Health Bursaries
With funding from the BC Associated Boards of Health Dr. Ken Benson Memorial Bursary and the Isabel Loucks Foster Public Health Bursary Funds, bursaries are available to qualified students who are or wish to engage in post-graduate study in a field of Public or Community health practice within any recognized discipline.

Vancouver Sun Children's Fund
This fund provides grants to registered charities in British Columbia operating summer camps and out-of-school time programs that directly serve the needs of children and youth (up to 18 years) with special challenges. Grants range up to $5,000.
